I have been fortunate to build long-term relationships with many clients, often collaborating on multiple projects over the years. One client engaged me for three separate renovations of their estate in San Anselmo. Another worked with me on four different homes, located in Mill Valley, Lake Tahoe, Manhattan, and again in Mill Valley. These ongoing collaborations reflect a level of trust and continuity that has been one of the most rewarding aspects of my practice.

Mill Valley, Tahoe, Manhattan, and back to Mill Valley for an ADU
In 2008 I had the good fortune of being introduced to Jill Benton as a potential architect for my remodel in Mill Valley. This was a very auspicious meeting as it led to 4 major projects for me. The first being a large-scale remodel in Mill Valley, a 4000 square foot new build in Northstar-Tahoe (2018), and a remodel of a one-bedroom apartment in the Upper West Side of NYC (2021). We are now designing a detached ADU for my home in Mill Valley. Each home has a very distinctive style, farmhouse, rustic modern, and modern. Jill is a fabulous architect for many reasons. She is a wonderful listener and adjusts her artistic process to reflect the needs of her clients. Jill is extremely responsive to emails and phone calls. Her turnaround time for design and tweaking of designs is frankly remarkable. Jill is very skillful, has a lovely sense of design, is extremely client-focused, and very easy to work with. When I started the design of my Tahoe home and was frustrated with the local architects one of my friends said, "why don't you ask Jill if she'll come to Tahoe, you love what she designed for you in Mill Valley." The rest is history. I could not recommend Jill Benton Architects more highly. She is my go-to architect. We've lasted longer than most marriages!

Jill is a great architect that I worked with a few years back on a very difficult build in Mill Valley. At the time it was one of the most difficult builds I had done. The City of Mill Valley building department put many hurdles in my way throughout the process, but Jill was there to help get me through it and in the end the project turned out beautifully.
