Hello! I am Jill Benton, principal of Jill Benton Architects. I founded the firm Tardy and Associates Architects in 1997. After so many years, and paralleling a website overhaul, I made the decision to have the firm name more accurately represent the design team in this, the eve of our firm’s 25th anniversary.
I graduated from U.C. Berkeley in 1989 with a B.A. degree in Architecture, and then worked for a couple of prestigious firms before taking a leave to have my two amazing children. Soon thereafter, they went to daycare part-time and I returned to work part-time for a high-end residential firm here in Mill Valley until I felt the calling to take the leap and begin my own firm in 1997.
In the past 24 years, I have been fortunate to take the lead in a varying array of projects ranging from large, new homes to smaller (or in many cases, not smaller) home remodels and additions. Every project, new construction or not, is rewarding in its own way. Though a handful of our previous work has been more commercial in nature, Tardy and Associates and now, Jill Benton Architects, has always focused mainly on residential projects. In addition, the number of our repeat clients (check out the project called Alder #1) speaks volumes about the level of satisfaction that clients have had for our work over the years.
I am excited to be taking Jill Benton Architects into the next 25 years, and look forward to working with you to create a beautiful place in which to live.
