Jill Benton Architects was founded by Jill Benton in as Tardy and Associates, Architects, in 1997. After so many years, and paralleling a website overhaul, the decision was made to have the firm name more accurately represent the design team in this, the eve of the 25th anniversary of the firm’s creation.
Jill Benton graduated from U.C. Berkeley in 1989 with a B.A. degree in Architecture, and then worked for a couple of prestigious firms before taking a leave to devote time to her new family, complete with two children. Soon thereafter, Jill returned to work part-time for a high-end residential firm in Mill Valley until she felt the calling to take the leap and begin her own firm in 1997.
In the past 24 years, Jill has been fortunate to take the lead in a varying array of projects ranging from large, new homes to smaller (or in many cases, not smaller) home remodels and additions. Every project, new construction or not, is rewarding in its own way. Though a handful of the previous work has been more commercial in nature, Jill Benton Architects focuses mainly on residential projects. In addition, the number of repeat clients speaks volumes about the level of satisfaction that Jill has brought to her clients over the years.
